Shipping & Returns

1. Shipping Information

1.1 Processing Time

All orders are carefully packaged and prepared for shipment. Processing times vary depending on the artwork:

  • Ready-to-ship artwork: 3-5 business days
  • Made-to-order artwork: 2-4 weeks
  • Custom commissions: 4-8 weeks (estimated timeline provided during consultation)

1.2 Shipping Methods

We offer the following shipping options:

Canada Domestic

  • Standard Shipping: 5-10 business days
  • Express Shipping: 2-5 business days
  • White Glove Delivery: Available for large or fragile pieces (custom quote)

United States

  • Standard International: 7-14 business days
  • Express International: 3-7 business days

International

  • Standard International: 10-21 business days
  • Express International: 5-10 business days

1.3 Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the artwork size, weight, destination, and selected shipping method. For large or valuable pieces, we provide custom shipping quotes.

  • Free standard shipping on orders over CAD $5,000 within Canada
  • Flat rate shipping available for smaller works
  • Custom crating and white glove delivery quoted separately

2. Packaging & Handling

Every artwork is treated with the utmost care:

  • Professional art packaging materials including acid-free paper, bubble wrap, and corner protectors
  • Custom wooden crates for large or fragile pieces
  • Double-boxing for extra protection
  • Clear "Fragile" and "This Side Up" markings
  • Waterproof outer packaging

3. Insurance & Tracking

All shipments include:

  • Full insurance coverage: Every artwork is fully insured for its purchase value during transit
  • Tracking information: You will receive a tracking number via email once your order ships
  • Signature required: Delivery confirmation with signature to ensure safe receipt

4. International Shipping

4.1 Customs & Duties

International buyers are responsible for:

  • All customs fees, import duties, and taxes imposed by the destination country
  • Providing accurate customs information
  • Clearing the artwork through customs if required

4.2 Export Documentation

We provide all necessary export documentation including:

  • Commercial invoice
  • Certificate of authenticity
  • Artist statement
  • Customs declaration forms

4.3 Restricted Countries

We currently do not ship to countries under trade embargoes or sanctions. Please contact us if you have questions about shipping to your country.

5. Return Policy

5.1 Original Artwork Returns

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Original artworks may be returned within 14 days of delivery if:

  • The artwork is in its original condition
  • All original packaging is intact
  • The certificate of authenticity is included
  • You contact us within 48 hours of receiving the artwork to initiate the return

5.2 Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom commissioned pieces
  • Sale or clearance items (marked as final sale)
  • Artwork that has been altered, damaged, or displayed

5.3 Return Shipping

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the artwork arrives damaged or is significantly different from its description. We recommend using a tracked, insured shipping method.

5.4 Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect the returned artwork:

  • Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
  • Original payment method will be credited
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error
  • A 10% restocking fee may apply to certain returns

6. Damaged or Defective Items

6.1 Inspection Upon Delivery

Please inspect your artwork immediately upon delivery:

  • Examine the outer packaging for signs of damage
  • If damage is visible, note it on the delivery receipt and take photos
  • Carefully unpack and inspect the artwork
  • Document any damage with photographs

6.2 Reporting Damage

If your artwork arrives damaged:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@nickbodoin.com
  • Provide photos of the damage and packaging
  • Include your order number and tracking information
  • Keep all packaging materials for inspection

6.3 Resolution

For damaged or defective items, we will:

  • Arrange for return shipping at no cost to you
  • Provide a full refund or replacement
  • File an insurance claim if applicable

7. Order Cancellations

You may cancel your order:

  • Before shipping: Full refund minus any processing fees
  • After shipping: Subject to our return policy
  • Commissioned works: Cancellation not available once work has begun (50% deposit is non-refundable)

8. Lost or Stolen Packages

If your package is marked as delivered but you haven't received it:

  • Check with neighbors or building management
  • Verify the delivery address on your order confirmation
  • Contact us within 48 hours
  • We will file a claim with the shipping carrier

Please note: We are not responsible for packages stolen after confirmed delivery. We recommend using a secure delivery location.
